We have just returned from a two night stay at Number Thirty Two to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Wow...from the moment you walk through the main door you know you are somewhere very special. The contemporary and traditional mix is superb and just right.
The lounge is stunning, looking through the huge floor to ceiling windows over to the Imperial Gardens is lovely. The decor is quite something. The hospitality here extends to an honesty bar which is available each evening, candles are lit here, with comfy chairs, books and magazines, you could easily just spend the evening here oohing and aahing at the surroundings!
The Jonathans certainly make you feel very welcome from the moment you arrive until you are ready to leave. Our room was also stunning and immaculate so too was the bathroom. Fresh water, a cafetiere and an assortment of teas are a nice touch, so are the Penhaligon toilletries. The bed was soooo comfortable and the room very quiet. The location could not be better, you can walk to all of the main shopping areas and to all of the good restaurants. (We can recommend The Daffodil and Brasserie Blanc).
We left feeling very relaxed. Oh, I didnt mention the breakfast ....... wow again!!!

CHELTENHAM
Why go If you love vintage, you'll love Cheltenham's Montpellier neighbourhood, with its retro and boutique fashion shops. There are also delis and cool wine merchants (try John Gordon's; johngordons.com).
Where to stay Thirty-Two is a wonderfully friendly five-star B&B with only four rooms on a Regency terrace.
Living etc
Where? In a Regency town house, overlooking Imperial Square, one of Cheltenham's finest spots.
The look Asian luxe meets mid-century: think Jim Thompson silks and Indian treasures mixed with shapely Fifties pieces. Glam finishing touches come via Andrew Martin's glossy storage, elegant La Fibule chairs, Cole & Son wallpaper and lighting by Verner Panton and Achille Castiglioni.
USP Impeccable hosts Jonathan and Jonathan give you a front door key and the run of the grand drawing room, complete with honesty bar and balcony: perfect for candelit nightcaps. Livingetc loved the bath with a view in Hidcote room, but the Mad Men-style cocktail bar and copper bathtub in The Suite will steal many a heart.
